what we keep, and why.

what we collect

• your name and email (from Clerk when you sign up)
• your payment status + subscription dates (from Stripe — we never see your card number)
• your dietary prefs, household, saved recipes, cook log (from the onboarding quiz + app use)
• what you post: recipe notes, cook photos, postcard replies
• basic analytics: which pages you view, what device, from where (PostHog, no personal data leaves the app unless you post it)

what we don't do

• we don't sell your data
• we don't send marketing email you didn't ask for
• we don't share your cook photos outside the club without your scope choice (club / chef / private)
• we don't keep your card — Stripe does

who sees your data

only us (jason + a small ops team) and the vendors we have to use to run the site — Clerk for auth, Stripe for billing, Resend for email, Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting, Daily.co for live class video, PostHog for analytics, Sentry for error tracking. each has their own privacy policy. we picked ones we'd be okay handing our own data to.

what you can do

• export your data: email jason@jointhecookingclub.com and we'll send it
• delete your account: same email — we remove everything within 30 days, except what we're legally required to retain for billing/tax
• unsubscribe from dispatch: one click at the bottom of any dispatch email

children

members must be 13+. if you're under 18, get a parent or guardian's ok before signing up.
